About the Event

This tutored course is designed for those who want to be able to identify flowers of the British mountains and understand them in context. The course will cover the ecology of the plants including geology and soils rather than simply identifying individual plants. We will also consider ethno-biology of some of the plants.

Part I will cover different ecological contexts of plants in the Lake District from sea level to mountain tops.

We will be visiting different sites up to 800m altitude. Appropriate mountain waterproofs and fell boots are essential.

Price for tutoring: members £40; non-members £60

Course leader: Stuart Lockton
