Knoydart Canoe Adventure
An extreme journey into possibly the most remote and isolated place in the United Kingdom. The journey will involve arduous loch paddling, a portage, and exposed paddling on open sea lochs. Only suitable for the most committed and hardy of canoeists. If you fit that description, you are welcome to join!
In this expedition we will aim to travel by canoe from Loch Morar, via a portage to the head of Loch Nevis, where we will camp. On the return journey, if conditions allow, it may be possible to attain Mallaig by sea.

Our expedition will set off on Loch Morar to reach Tarbert where we will portage to Loch Nevis and travel to the head of the loch. I would expect to spentd 2 nights camping at the head of Loch Nevis, but this will be dictated by weather conditions and tide times. If conditions allow the return journey will stay on Loch Nevis to reach Mallaig by sea.
The landscape is endlessly fascinating, with a wide range of wildlife encountered on each journey.
The route is prone to strong winds and treacherous tidal flows, and completion of the route cannot be guaranteed.
Canoes and paddling equipment will be provided if needed, you will need to bring your own clothing and camping and cooking equipment. Guides will support with the camping as with the paddling.
Pick-up and drop off is possible from Fort William train station by pre-arrangement.
